What is a business coach?

Business coaches function in the business world much like the coaches and personal trainers hired by elite athletes; they help streamline and improve your performance. Business coaches help you focus on the activities that bring in the highest profits. By providing a fresh perspective, they can help you see things that you’ve overlooked. A business coach can help you improve your bottom line, regardless of whether you own a Fortune 500 company, a smaller mom-and-pop operation or if you run a business from home. Any business that wants to move to the next level should consider a business coach.

Many entrepreneurs want to know how to find a small business coach. Well, there are more than 30,000 life and business coaches throughout the world. How do you choose the right one to help you grow your business? The simply way is the talk with prospective coaches and see who clicks with you. Do an abbreviated coaching session with a coach, and analyze how you feel afterwards. Go with your gut. Budget your income so you can get started now. Delay can be harmful to your future success.

How can a business coach help me?

Are you having trouble balancing your business, family, and relationship commitments? If you are an entrepreneur who is struggling with overwhelm, you need a business coach. The entrepreneur is an independent breed that frequently prefers to go it alone and therefore may be reluctant to hire a business coach. However, I know from experience that your business can grow exponentially when you have an extra set of eyes and ears that are totally devoted to you and what you want to accomplish. In fact, once you start working with a coach, you’ll probably wish you had hired one long ago.

People work with coaches for a number of reasons. The International Coach Federation conducted a survey of 210 coaching clients who had been coached for an average of nine months. Some of the most popular reasons for working with a coach included:

Almost 85% of the people wanted someone to coach them on time management 74.3% of them wanted to get career guidance 73.8% business advice 58.6% of them had either relationship or family issues on which they need some guidance. 52% wanted coaches to help them deal with fitness and wellness issues. 45.2% of them sought assistance with personal issues. Goal-setting advice was a priority of 39.5% of the clients 38.1% wanted help with managing their finances funds. 11% were looking for help to boost their creativity.

Approximately 84.8% of the people responding to the survey viewed the coach as a sounding board, while 78.1% saw the coach as a motivator, and 46.7% sought out the coach as a business consultant.

1. A Business Coach can help launch your products and services. He or she can guide you to develop a marketing plan that resonates with your vision and values. Best of all, your coach will hold you accountable for implementing your plan and reaching your business objectives.

2. A Business Coach can help you find your passion and your business niche. Once you’ve found your niche, your coach will help you create an automated marketing funnel that will work for you 24/7. With the automated marketing funnel in place, your business will grow while you sleep. Your coach will also help you identify your ideal clients, customers and future business partners by helping you develop a detailed buyer persona.

3. Business coaching can get you where you want to go. If you want to 1) making smarter decisions that align with your own values and passions; 2) improve your communications skills and understand yourself so profoundly so that you can habitually choose the right opportunities for you at the right time and 3) interact with the right people so that you can make more money and live the life you desire, then you owe it to yourself to get some and business coaching. As an additional benefit, you will be modeling success and entrepreneurship to your children and family.

4. A Business Coach can help you develop excellent time management skills, identify and eliminate time-wasting distractions, and prioritize your strengths so you can concentrate on your high-productivity assets. Thus you work smarter, not harder, so you can relax more when you want to.

5. A Business Coach can help you develop skills that attract customers, joint venture partners and affiliates. With your business coach you will develop increased confidence. You’ll improve your communications skills and you’ll increase your business posture, all of which will attract potential customers and business partners.

6. A Business Coach will help you learn to read people. With this skill, you’ll be better able to pick the right people to work with and you will attract the best people to your organization.

7. A Business Coach can help you align your actions with your passions. Running into roadblocks and setbacks is inevitable. Knowing your passions and what makes your business unique will help you keep moving forward and overcome any obstacles. Plus, knowing what sets your business apart from the others means you won’t have to worry about the competition.

8. After the 15 minute complimentary coaching session with a prospective business coach, both you and the coach will probably know if you are a good fit for each other. Remember, a good, professional coach will not be your socializing buddy, but she must elicit strong rapport so you can accrue the most benefit from your coaching sessions. Undoubtedly, it will take some time. If you have any doubts about your confidence and trust in your coach, keep looking.

9. Do you believe that you can tell your most secret thoughts to your coach? Has your coach stated her confidentiality policy? Can you be absolutely honest with your coach? The answers to the above questions should be a resounding “yes”, or else keep looking. A coach must exude trust and integrity.

10. A Business Coach motivates you to go in for what your soul says. Do avail yourself of the resources offered by your business coach. After all you are paying for the services of a business coach. Many people feel that a good coach is a necessity nowadays. In fact, a good coach can be a life saver as well as a business saver. You can’t do it all alone in business or in life, and you shouldn’t try to.
