You are faced with wrapping a present for someone and all you have is some fabric and lace. Do not panic, you can create a beautiful package for a birthday, anniversary, wedding or Christmas gift with this as well as other types of gift wrapping supplies. These are fun to create and to give because you lend you own personal touch to the gift.

Some see only one choice when wrapping a gift. Paper is the most common way to wrap a gift but it is not the only way. Fabric as well as plastic may also be used for making gifts more personal and to decorate them. You should always ensure that the gift has your personal flare and fits the person who receives it.

Organizing paper goods is important to ensure they remain in good condition. Many times rolls of paper is left out or places in plastic bags only to have them torn and damaged when you need them. This is a waste of resources. Plastic containers are available that will help protect your wrapping paper as well as other supplies such as tape, scissors and ribbon.

Other ideas for supplies include fabric or cloth, lace trim or rick-rack and plastic cross stitching fabric. With the cross stitch fabric it is easy to make a square, round rectangle or triangle container to place your gift in and personalize it in any manner you choose. You can even make these containers for special occasions such as an anniversary and cross stitch the occasion on the fabric.

Since paper is most commonly used in wrapping gifts, it is the decorations that will make it unique. Paper is used because of its flexibility. It may be used to wrap any size or shape item and is generally easy to dispose of. Instead of giving a plain wrapped gift, consider decorating it with fabric cut outs that are held in place with hot glue. They are easy to use and are very decorative.

Along with paper for packages you will need some type of securing materials. Tape is the most common and is found in almost every home. You would be mistaken if you think all tape is the same. In fact some cheap brands do not retain their ability to hold all types of materials. Some are better for paper while others are intended for other materials. Tape that is double sided is the perfect way to make you package look like a professional wrapped it.

Finishing touches on your gift is what actually makes it beautiful. To give it a unique look, choose different ribbons and bows to adorn it with. Some ribbon is made for curling. This is done by using the edge of your scissors to run down the length of the ribbon. Some ribbon has wire along the edge to enable it to hold shape. These come in a wide variety of colors, sizes and materials.

Wrapping a gift can be an artistic craft. Using a variety of different gift wrapping supplies can give your package the unique look you want it to have and make it fun to both give and receive.
